Everything people ask us before they start, in plain words. Can’t find yours? Ask us. We reply within one working day.
Getting started
What does Blue Peak do?
We design and build custom websites, with schema and SEO foundations built in. That’s it, and we do it properly.
Do I have to choose from templates?
No. Every site is designed from scratch around your business, your customers and how you want it to look.
Which plan is right for me?
Start with the ‘Best for’ line on each plan. If you’re still unsure, send us a line about your business and we’ll recommend one honestly, even if it’s the smallest.
What should I put in my brief?
What you do, who your customers are and what you want the website to do. Links to a few sites you like help too, even if they’re in a different industry.
Do I need my content ready?
No. A rough idea is enough to start. We’ll tell you exactly what we need and when, so it never holds up the build.
Is there any obligation?
None. A quote is just a quote. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you and point you somewhere better.
Are you a big agency?
No. We’re a small studio. You work directly with the person who designs and builds your site, not an account manager.
Where are you based?
South Africa. We work with businesses nationwide over video calls, email and WhatsApp.
Process and timelines
How long does a website take?
Most sites go live in 2 to 6 weeks. You get a fixed timeline in writing before we start.
What happens after I send it?
We reply within one working day. Then a chat to understand your customers, followed by a fixed quote and timeline in writing.
What do you need from me?
Your logo, any photos you have, and a little time each week to give feedback. We guide you through the rest.
Services
What’s the difference between a landing page and a website?
A landing page is one focused page with one job, like getting bookings for a launch. A business website has several pages that explain what you do, build trust and help you get found on Google.
Can you build an online store?
Yes. Product pages, a smooth checkout and South African payment options like PayFast, Yoco or Ozow, with product schema so Google understands your range.
Which platform do you build on?
The one that suits you. Often that’s WordPress or Shopify, so you can edit things easily. Sometimes a custom-coded site is the better fit for speed. We explain the trade-offs before we start.
Do you run ads or social media?
Not right now. We focus on one thing: websites that load fast and get found.
SEO and schema
Will my site rank on Google?
Every site is built on solid SEO foundations: speed, structure, schema and clean code. Ranking also takes good content and time. We’ll show you exactly what to focus on.
What SEO is included?
The foundations: unique page titles and descriptions, clean headings, fast loading, image alt text, schema, an XML sitemap ready for Google and redirects from your old pages. Ongoing content and link building is not part of our service.
What is schema, and why does it matter?
Schema is a small block of code that tells Google exactly what a page is about: your business, hours, services, products or FAQs. It helps Google understand you, and it can earn richer search results.
Will a redesign hurt my Google ranking?
Not if it’s done carefully. We map every old page to its new address with redirects, keep what already works and have the new sitemap ready for Google.
Do you do ongoing SEO?
No. We build the foundations properly and show you what to focus on next. Ongoing content and link building isn’t part of our service.
Ownership and editing
Do I own my website?
Yes. The domain, the content and the code are yours. You get full admin access on launch day and you can leave any time.
Can I update it myself?
Yes. You can change text, photos and products without touching code.
What isn’t included?
Hosting, your domain name and any paid plugins or apps. We can set these up for you, and they stay in your name.
Plans and payment
How do payments work?
50% to start and 50% at launch, by EFT. For bigger projects we can split it into three payments. You never pay the final amount until you are happy with the site.
Can you match a smaller budget?
Often, yes. A landing page now and more pages later is a common way to start. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a route.
What if I need changes later?
Small edits are covered by a care plan, or we quote per change.
Your current site
I already have a site. Can you fix it?
Often, yes. Start with our site check, then we’ll tell you honestly whether a tune-up or a redesign makes more sense.
What is the free hand check?
Send us your web address. We look at real load times, how Google sees your pages and your schema, then send you the five changes that would help most. In one working day.
Will you try to sell me a new website?
No. If a few small fixes are all you need, we’ll say so. Many sites don’t need a rebuild.
How accurate is this check?
The live test uses Google’s own Lighthouse engine on a simulated mid-range phone, the same test as PageSpeed Insights. Scores move a few points between runs, so look at the pattern, not one number.
